Beginning today, Habib Bank AG Zurich launches its next phase in Internet banking with its online letters of credit (LCs). "Our new service provides customers with a fast and efficient way of requesting an LC at any time, anywhere," Joint President Reza Habib said yesterday. Customers may visit the bank's website and fill in an LC form which will then instantaneously begin to be cleared. Besides time savings, an added advantage is that customers can reload the earlier form and make necessary changes instead of resubmitting all data with every application.

In line with its policy of striving to keep ahead of the industry, the bank has added over 30 pages to its site including current, savings, call deposit and time deposit accounts, commercial and auto loans, local bills discount, LC sight and usance, delivery or local purchase order, shipping guarantee, master credit card and rent loan. Customers also have access to historical information.
