Habib Bank AG Zurich announced piloting a Java-based banking application called hPLUS at 11
branches across the UAE. Following the testing the bank intends to roll out this application
to its branches worldwide. The bank's IT department is managed in Dubai.

A Press release said that hPLUS is among world's first Java based banking solutions. The
software based on core of 55 modules was written in Dubai

by Habib Bank AG Zurich's software developers. It provides 1,000 banking
options, which can be used to run an internal banking system or to deliver home and Internet
banking.

The hPLUS is also lifely to be launched on the Habib Bank's web-site allowing its customers
access to Internet banking. The bank is considering marketing the software to other banks, which
requires Java based software solutions, according to the release.
