Internet Explorer does not distinguish between 40 bit and 128-bit encryption on the browser screen.

What is WAP?
The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is an open global specification that empowers mobile users with wireless
devices to easily access and interact with information and services instantly. WAP includes a specification
called WTLS that implements options for authentication and encryption. It is optimized for use in the mobile
phone environment.
What is HBZwap banking?
HBZwap banking allows you to check your account(s) details and conduct transactions in your account(s) via WAP
enabled devices like mobile phones and PDAs.
My country does not have any provider for WAP services. Does it restrict me from using your WAP Banking services?
No. However, you do need Internet access. Habib Bank AG Zurich was the first bank to introduce WAP banking in the
Middle East. We have set up our own WAP service and it does not depend on any other service provider.
What are the various services offered via WAP Banking?
Theoretically you can use all services offered via HBZweb banking. However, WAP devices have much smaller
screens and it is very cumbersome to use services like opening Letters of Credit etc. on a WAP device. Since we
do not distinguish between Web and WAP services from the service point of view, you can apply all relevant
information given about Web Banking services to WAP Banking services also. (Please read FAQs on
Web Banking).
What hardware/equipment is required?
You can use any WAP device such as mobile phones or PDAs to access this service via any WML browser that
supports WTLS. For higher grade security, we use WTLS with 128 bit encryption to transport information to your
device. We recommend that your WAP device supports WTLS security with 128 bit strong encryption.
I have a WAP enabled mobile but I am not able to connect to HBZwap banking service. What is the problem?
Make sure that your mobile is set up with the correct information to connect to Habib Bank AG Zurich's WAP Banking
services. (See the next question). In the market, a lot of mobile manufactures claim that they support WAP
on their mobiles but only very few of them support 128 bit WTLS for security.
How do I set up my WAP device for WAP Banking?
Make sure that your mobile service provider has enabled the
data communication feature on your SIM card (some mobile providers do it automatically when they issue a SIM
card). Then refer to the manual of your mobile device to setup the service. The following information may be necessary
to set up the device. Please note that set up procedures vary. If you can not access our WAP Banking service through any
128 bit WTLS WAP enabled device, please call us at +971 4 221 4535 ext. 703 or send a
Mail.

HBZgsm banking
What is GSM?
GSM is a communication technology used by mobile phones and mobile service providers. GSM supports SMS (Short
Message Service), a technology used to send and receive short messages between mobile devices and mobile servers.
What is HBZgsm banking?
HBZgsm banking allows you to receive your account information from the bank via SMS messages. This is a push
technology, which means a message will be pushed to your mobile phone whenever an event of interest happens. It
can also be used as a pull technology. When used that way a SMS message containing a key word is sent to the bank
to pull information or carry out a transaction.
What kind of information can I get via HBZgsm banking?
End of day balance, any transaction, cheque payment details, cheque return details, TT remittance details etc.
The service can be fully personalised to receive only selected transactions with a desired range of transaction
amount making sure you are in control of your finances.
Other highly sophisticated events can also be monitored/handled, such as:
"Notify me if my import documents under letter of credit is lodged for $ 5 million or more, otherwise notify my Financial Controller".
"Notify me if my balance drops under a specified value".
How fast can I get the information when a subscribed event happens?
Within 20 to 40 seconds. However, this cannot be guaranteed since it depends on your
mobile service provider's infrastructureand extent of network usage at the time of the SMS transmission.
What will happen if I switch-off my GSM phone or go to an area where no mobile coverage is available?
Messages will be queued up for some time. If the mobile phone cannot be reached for an extended period,
message sending will be stopped.
What kind of transactions can I carry out via GSM Banking?
We do not support transactions (and pull technology) with our HBZgsm service because of security concerns. GSM
messaging systems are not secure and are network dependent. In order to carry out transactions from your mobile
phone, PDA or computer, please use our secure WAP or Web Banking services.

What options do I have to use after logging in with the Secure Key.

Once successfully logged in with the Key, you will see three new options:
- Transaction Definition
- Transaction Execution
- View status of Fund Transfer Request
Through "Transaction Definition" you can define a template for future fund transfers to any Habib Bank AG
Zurich UAE account(s), or you can define a template for future telegraphic fund transfers to any account(s)
anywhere in the world.
You are required to define the transaction through the "Transaction Definition" option and submit your
request to the bank by clicking the SAVE button. Once your request is received by the bank, it will be
processed through an automated validation system. The bank will then send you a secure mail requesting you
to reconfirm your request by accessing your template again through the "Transaction Definition" option. Once you
accept the transaction by clicking the AGREE button, the template will move to Transaction Execution for
future retrievals and payments.
In the event you have failed to input necessary information, such as S.W.I.F.T., UID codes etc. in your initial
request, the bank will as usual send you a secure mail to reconfirm your request. Only this time, the template
will include changes/corrections made by the bank. If these changes are acceptable to you, you merely click the
AGREE button and the corrected template will be moved to "Transaction Execution" in the same manner as
mentioned above.
To finally execute the remittance, you will be required to access the "Transaction Execution" option.
Your template(s) will already be waiting for you to complete the process by entering the amount to be remitted as
well as a transaction reference if you desire. You then click the PROCESS button to execute your payment.
Please note: You can always modify your template through "Transaction Definition". Always give a name to the
template that you create for your easy reference.
What information is provided through the option "view status of fund transfer request"?
